Deodorant ingredient checker

Understand your deodorant or antiperspirant ingredients.

Paste a deodorant label to identify which ingredients may reduce sweat, address odor, preserve the formula or add fragrance—without inventing a product safety score.

Paste it from a product page or type it from the label. The “Ingredients:” heading and line breaks can stay.

How to check a label

  1. Copy the Ingredients list. US antiperspirants may show an active ingredient separately under Drug Facts.
  2. Paste it here or start with the illustrated Deodorant sample.
  3. Review the names associated with odor, sweat reduction, fragrance and preservatives.
  4. Check linked references for any regulatory flag; the label alone cannot determine product safety.

Deodorant versus antiperspirant: different purposes

Deodorants address body odor, while antiperspirants reduce sweating. An aluminum salt such as Aluminum Chlorohydrate is an example of an antiperspirant ingredient. Read deodorant versus antiperspirant ingredients for sourced EU and US distinctions.

On US antiperspirants, an active ingredient may be printed in the Drug Facts panel rather than solely in a cosmetic ingredient list. This checker recognizes ingredient names but does not verify percentages or medical and regulatory compliance.

Common odor-control and fragrance names

Formulas may use Triethyl Citrate, Zinc Ricinoleate or Sodium Bicarbonate, while others rely more on fragrance or other methods. No ingredient is required in every deodorant.

Parfum and Linalool may appear in scented formulas. For an individual fragrance preference, compare declared names and read fragrance-free versus unscented.

What an aluminum-free claim does—and does not—show

An aluminum-free claim is about a group of ingredients, not a full evaluation of the formula. The checker can tell you whether it recognizes listed aluminum ingredients, but cannot verify the absence of unlisted materials.

Every reported restriction must be read in the context of its jurisdiction, product use and concentration. A cosmetic ingredients list alone cannot establish finished-product safety or compliance. See what a scanner cannot tell you.

Compare two deodorant labels side by side

Use compare ingredient lists to identify which names are common or unique between formulas. Separate any antiperspirant ingredient from deodorizing, scent and texture ingredients rather than relying on a universal score.

Names you will often see

An antiperspirant may contain an aluminum salt, while deodorants use diverse odor-control mechanisms. Not every formula contains every example.

Questions

Can the checker tell whether deodorant is aluminum-free?

It can identify many known aluminum ingredients that are listed. It cannot certify a manufacturer's claims or find undeclared material.

Can I paste US antiperspirant active ingredients?

You can look up recognized ingredient names; this tool does not interpret drug percentages or certify a finished product's compliance.

Is a deodorant with baking soda automatically unsafe?

No. The presence of Sodium Bicarbonate alone does not establish a product-level or individual-tolerance verdict.

For iPhone

Skip the copying. Scan the label.

The app reads the ingredient list straight from the pack with your camera, explains every name the same way, and puts your own watchlist first. Your scans stay on your phone.
